BITUVER Saint-Gobain Group

Bituver, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, is the brand with which Isover Saint-Gobain enters the world of bituminous waterproofing membranes and impact sound insulation. The bitumen polymer membranes are produced in Chieti plant, where careful tests are carried out on the quality of the raw materials used for the mixes, their mutual compatibility, the mechanical performances of the reinforcement and the quality of the surface finishes.

BITUVER produces bitumen polymer membranes in its Chieti plant for waterproofing flat roofs, pitch roofs, bridges and viaducts, earth retaining walls and foundations, meeting all the requirements with traditional, self-adhesive, thermo-adhesive, light, root-proof and dimpled membranes and other special products.

Located in the Val Pescara industrial area in Chieti, the BITUVER plant was acquired from Balzaretti Modigliani with the name of "Protexa”.

The production of bituminized felts started in 1972, thus initiating a development process, which subsequently led to the installation of other production plants, reaching the current level of 3 production lines.

Bituver is one of the leading Italian manufacturers of bituminous membranes and boasts considerable experience in the manufacture of special membranes such as self-protecting ones with metal sheets (aluminium and copper).

As a result of the ongoing quest for quality, the Chieti plant has been certified in compliance with the UNI EN ISO 9002 standard since 1994 and, then, UNI EN ISO 9001 since 2004.

The BITUVER range of bitumen polymer membranes is certainly among the most complete on the market. Thanks to 3 different production lines available, BITUVER is capable of manufacturing any type of product.

Without doubt, one great distinguishing feature of BITUVER that stands out is its production flexibility. In fact, different types of compounds, reinforcing, coatings, self-protection, etc. are used and materials with characteristics different from the usual manufacturing standards are produced even for limited batches.
